Currently, Halcyon can only integrate with Georgia's EDRS System (GAVERS).
Video: GAVERS Integration Instructions
If you are a funeral home in Georgia AND/OR your Halcyon system has been connected with GAVERS you will see a panel on the Death Certificates page titled "EDRS Integration".
If the decedent's Place of Death is in Georgia you will see the option to Preview the decedent information that would be sent to GAVERS. You will also see a Transmission History Summary listing all the previous times the information was sent to GAVERS along with the submission results that were returned by GAVERS.
If the Place of Death is not in Georgia or the State of Death has not been entered on the Biography screen you will see a message informing you that there is no integration for this decedent.
Cases > Death Certificates
Click the Preview button to view the decedent data that will be sent to GAVERS. The information should be checked for accuracy.
Username/password will be valid for 8 hours so users only need to enter their username/password to reauthenticate once a day. However, users will also need to re-enter their username and password if their GAVERS password was reset. If a GAVERS password is expired it will need to be updated in GAVERS and that new password entered into the Halcyon/GAVERS reauthentication panel.
There are two different sets of login credentials. Users will log into Halcyon using their Halcyon username and password. The GAVERS username and password is needed only for sending DC data to GAVERS. Please contact GAVERS support if you need assistance with your GAVERS username and password.
When you are ready to send the information to GAVERS, enter your GAVERS login credentials and click submit.
NOTE: There may be a delay the first time you send information to the EDRS. Please be patient.
You will receive a success message if the data was successfully sent to the EDRS or a detailed message containing any errors or warnings about missing or problems with the decedent information.
IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THE ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION SENT TO THE EDRS. PLEASE LOGIN TO THE EDRS SYSTEM AND CHECK THE DATA BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE GAVERS DEATH CERTIFICATE SUBMISSION PROCESS.
The EDRS Data Transmission History table will show the date the decedent information was sent to the EDRS, the username who sent the record and the result and messages.
The assigned EDR number will appear on the screen the next time you Preview the data.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
DELETING PREVIOUSLY SENT DATA VALUES:
One very important designed feature of the GAVERS system to be aware of: if you have previously sent a value for a data field to GAVERS and later remove that field in Halcyon and resend the decedent record from Halcyon to GAVERS: the pre-existing value in GAVERS will not be removed (aka updated to "blank"). This is a designed behavior to prevent existing data from inadvertently being removed. If you want to remove a previously sent data value please log in and remove the value directly in GAVERS.
FIRST-TIME SEND OF DATA FROM HALCYON FOR A DECEDENT RECORD ALREADY IN GAVERS:
When you send a record to GAVERS from Halcyon for a record that you have not sent before, GAVERS will look for an existing record for this decedent by checking the name and date of death. If an existing record is found, GAVERS will perform an edit of the record using the data Halcyon sent and GAVERS will pass back the existing EDR number for Halcyon's records.
