You may maintain your list of Insurance Assignments for an individual via the Assignments tab for the Client Information.
Note: If you do not see the Assignments option on your menu, please contact Technical Support to have the option enabled for your location(s).
We also have a Partner Integration with Express Funeral Funding (EFF). If you are an EFF customer please contact us to have your connection setup. Please scroll down to the specific section in this help article for adding and maintaining EFF assignments.
Assignment Setup and Maintenance (without a Partner Integration)
Insurance Company List Maintenance
In order to add an Insurance Assignment you must first create your list of Insurance Companies. Visit Setup> Insurance Company Maintenance in the Miscellaneous Setups Section.
You can maintain this list at any time. You can safely "remove" and Insurance Company from your list even if it has been previously selected on an assignment.
Assignment Maintenance
To add an assignment simply click the red Add Insurance Assignment button at the top of the screen.
The list of Insurance Companies populates from the companies you have previously setup via Setup > Insurance Company Maintenance.
The Contract Amount will pre-fill with the current total for the main contract and any AddOns for this client.
The Beneficiaries list comes from your Contacts tab so you must have previously entered the contact. You may, but its not necessary, to designate the contact as a beneficiary. The beneficiary list options will include all contacts for the client.
You may edit and delete Assignments as you desire.
Express Funeral Funding - Assignment Setup and Maintenance
Your funeral home must have been previously setup by EFF to allow a connection to Halcyon. The following are a couple links to Express Funeral Funding's website and help documentation. Please contact Express Funeral Funding directly for assistance in creating an account.

One-Time User Configuration
If your funeral home has been configured for a connection with Express Funeral Funding and you visit the Assignments tab you may be prompted to enter your EFF API Key. This is how Halcyon connects your Halcyon username with your login on Express Funeral Funding. You should only need to do this once.
Click the link to log into your EFF portal and visit your Account Preferences. Select Halcyon as the Vendor then click "Generate API Key". Click the copy icon then paste that value into the "EFF API Key" field in Halcyon.
Claim Draft Maintenance
Click the red "Add Claim Draft" to enter a start a new claim and you will be presented with a data collection screen.
The Insurance Company list will show EFF's current list of Insurance Companies. The Beneficiaries list comes from your Contacts tab so you must have previously entered the contact. Enter any other applicable information.
You may make modifications and additions to your drafts as necessary by clicking the various icons.
Click the green plus sign to add another policy to that insurance company. The edit icon on the assignment (insurance company row) will allow you to modify the insurance company information. The delete icon on the assignment row will allow you to remove the entire assignment draft which includes all policies. The edit and delete icons next to each policy will allow you to edit or remove that particular policy.
When you have entered all the information necessary and are ready to send the draft to EFF - which will create a claim on EFF - simply click the "Submit Claim to EFF" for the assignment you are ready to send.
NOTE: You must have entered the decedent's Social Security Number on the Biography screen before you will be allowed to send a draft to EFF.
After you click the Submit Claim button you will be given the opportunity to confirm your choice to send as well as enter the amount to fund and any Family Pay Amount.
Claim Maintenance
The information in the Claims section displays all Claims in EFF that contain the decedent's Social Security Number. These will be claims submitted from Halcyon or claims started directly in the EFF Hub.
Special note about Drafts:
You may see Drafts in the Claims section but only if they were initially submitted from the Assignments screen. This should be an extremely rare situation since the Drafts sent from Halcyon should be created as Claims in EFF.
Halcyon will have no knowledge of Drafts initially added in the EFF Hub until they are moved to Claim status. For this reason, you should always start your drafts on the Assignments screen.
There are several functions available for a claim. Most of the columns are self explanatory but we will cover those that need a little more explanation.
Documents Needed:
This is a list of documents that EFF needs for this claim. You may see a link for "View Document Specifics". This will display any additional information entered by an EFF representative about the document list.
Status:
This is the current Status of the claim: In Progress, Funded, Closed or Withdrawn.
Action Icons:
The Action Icons are Edit, Messaging, Assignment Document Download and Document Maintenance
Edit: Clicking the edit icon will open up EFF in another tab and take you directly to that particular claim. You will first be presented with your EFF Hub login page if you were not currently logged into EFF when you clicked the edit icon.
Message: This will allow you to view and send messages to EFF.
There are are any previous communications they will appear when you click the icon.
Download Assignment Document: This will download the current Irrevocable Assignment and Power of Attorney file to your local computer. You may save this to the folder of your choice.
Document Maintenance: This option will allow you to upload and download documents related to the claim.
To add a file, click the Choose File button, you will be prompted to locate the file on your local computer. Once you upload a file it will appear in the Existing Documents section. You can click the file name to view it or download to your computer.
Check EFF Status Button
Each time the Assignments page loads it will display the latest EFF status for each of your Assignments. You may also click the Check EFF Status Button at any time to re-check.
Login to Express Funeral Funding
Editing Claims will open up the EFF Portal for that Claim but you may also log in to EFF by clicking the Login to Express Funeral Funding at the bottom of the page.
