The Case Management Screens allow administrator level users to maintain fields on the Biography, Contacts, and Services tabs, the Add Case screen(s), and the Partner Portal screen. Adding custom fields on the Biography, Services, and Contacts tabs are also created in this area
Maintaining Fields
Field Visibility: You may notice that there are many fields available on the Biography, Services, or Contacts tabs which may not be necessary for your business. Halcyon allows administrator level users to define which fields appear by toggling on the Visibility column. Note that you can always view every available field on these tabs when viewing a client record by clicking the "Show All Data Fields" button.
Required Fields: Click on the required field checkbox
Synonyms: if this column shows a blue edit icon, you can change the field name which displays on your screen. For example. rather than "Maiden Name" appearing on the Biography screen you may wish for it to display "Last Name at Birth".
Adding Custom Fields
You may also add and maintain your own custom fields on the Biography, Services and Contacts screens. (Custom fields can be added to forms but are not available for Obituary use. See the Forms Maintenance help section for instructions on adding user-added custom fields to forms).
To add a custom field, hover over the "custom field" column and select the "Add Field" button to place a new custom field below the row.
Enter the name of your custom field. Select the type of field - Text, Number, Date, Time, or List. Select the size field that you want to appear- from small to extra large.
You may edit custom field name, type, or size at a later date. You will be alerted with a notification box warning you that the changes will affect case data (for existing and new cases).
The items for fields that are defined with a type of "List" are maintained under Admin > Screen Customization > Custom List Fields. Click the blue edit icon to add items and the red trashcan to delete them. To change the display order on the drop down screen, drag/drop to the desired order and click the Update Display Order button.
