1) The first processing step and the last processing step have an unlimited number of cases and there is no specific location for bodies. Every processing step between the first and last may have specific locations named OR you may be configured to have an unlimited number of cases in no specific location. If you do give specific location names they must be unique; they cannot be the same between processing steps. For example, a "processing" step can have a location named "Rack 1" and the "packaging" step cannot have a "Rack 1" location.
2) The Ready for Reception step is a pseudo-step where cases go that have been enabled for cremation tracking but not yet received. The Ready for Reception step cannot be removed and will only appear on your tracking screen if there are bodies that have been enabled for tracking but not received yet. Contact Halcyon customer support to request the Ready for Reception step renamed to one of your choosing.
3) ONLY Cremation locations (or Aquamation locations) can be setup to handle more than one body at a time in a specific location (retort/unit). This is ideal for pet crematories. When cremation locations are setup for multi-bodies the operator will type in the Placement of the body. This allows for the flexibility needed for re-positioning of aquamation units.
4) Pet Crematories can distinguish between private cremations and communal cremations. When a communal cremation is placed into a crematory unit that can handle multiple bodies then a lot can be created. Lot numbers are automatically assigned. Then to add multiple pets to a specific lot hit the + sign within the crematory unit to add more pets to that lot. When you Add a communal pet to a crematory unit (rather than adding it to an existing lot) then a new lot will be created even if the placement is the same text.
5) Pet Crematories can choose to be configured to use Detailed Lot Tracking or not.
If you have Detailed Lot Tracking OFF then once you move a lot out of your cremation or aquamation unit each pet in the lot will be automatically released from the tracking process and will no longer be visible on the Tracking screen.
If you have Detailed Lot tracking ON then you will move the Lot as a single unit through any steps between cremation/aquamation and the final Release step. Once you move the lot into the final step, the lot will be split back out into each individual pet and you will be able to release each pet that you included in the lot.
This setting can only be controlled by Halcyon and is OFF by default. Please let us know if you wish to use Detailed Lot Tracking.
6) Your tracking process order does not need to be sequential. For each step Halcyon technical support can configure the valid next step(s). For example, you may choose to allow a body to be moved from a Processing step to an Urn Locker step OR Ready for Release.
7) Step Detail is an optional setup to allow greater segregation within a step. Halcyon must turn on the option for Step Details as part of your configuration but you may maintain the detail options for a step via the Admin menu. The values for step details are specific to a step; the step detail value does not transfer to the next step when you move a body. The Step Detail in the image below is "Second Unit". Clicking on a step detail link will allow you to change the value to another value in the step's detail list.
Step details may be used however you wish; however, you may not use step details on your cremation/aquamation step if your cremation/aquamation step is configured to allow multiple bodies in one location.
