You may optionally assign QR codes to your decedents if you wish. This feature is NOT enabled when your system is initially configured.
QR codes can be used to quickly look up a decedent's record, tag personal effects or for any purpose you wish. There is nothing "magic" about the QR codes, they are simply a unique number that is assigned by you to a decedent, and they work in the same way that regular barcodes do.
Note that the feature discussed in this article only applies to customers who are not using Halcyon's cremation features. Cremation customers will not have the ability to turn this feature off since QR codes are required to move the body through the cremation process.
Enabling QR Code Tracking
Visit Admin > Enable/Disable QR Tracking Code Assignment
Assigning QR Code When Adding a Case
If QR code assignment has been enabled you will see the option to add a QR code when you add a case.
Quick Lookup
If QR Tracking is enabled you will see the "Look Up" icon at the top of every page.
Clicking the icon will show a screen that will allow you to type in or scan the QR code. If a matching case is found you will be taken to the Client's Overview screen. Visit our help article on QR code scanning devices for more information.
