Tukios Integration - Version 2 Information

Submit a support ticket if you would like to connect Halcyon with your Tukios website. 

If you are using Halcyon to maintain your client's obituary page on your Tukios website then Halcyon is considered to have the most recent and accurate information.  Obituary information is sent from Halcyon to Tukios, but Halcyon does NOT pull information from Tukios back into Halcyon. If you intend to send any information from Halcyon to Tukios you should NOT use the Tukios management interface to update obituary information for the decedent.  

There are some settings and data that can not be sent from Halcyon to Tukios; it is safe to maintain that information using Tukios' management interface.

Once Halcyon and your Tukios website are connected you will see a "Tukios Website Integration" panel on your At Need clients' Overview page.  Each gathering type you have defined via your Admin functions will appear with a checkbox. Your actual panel may look different than what is shown in the screenshot below.

You will see checkboxes for each of your currently defined Gatherings Types as well as a checkbox for the Obituary Text.  The associated information will be sent to Tukios if the checkbox is checked.  There is also a drop down that contains all of your available cover photo options.

The "Update as Draft" button will send the client biography information as well as the information for your "checked" boxes to Tukios.  The Tukios page will be switched to removed from public viewing.

Clicking the "Update and Publish" button will send your information to Tukios and the Tukios page will be publicly available.

Clicking the "Unpublish" button will not send any information to Tukios.  It will just remove the Tukios page from public accessibility.

The bottom of the panel will list the last time, date and user who 1) updated any client related information that is sent to Tukios, 2)  last clicked the "Update as Draft" button and 3) last clicked the "Update and Publish" button. 

When applicable you will see messages about the current update status such as when you have information in a Draft/Unpublished state.

The "View Page" button will show the information as it exists in Tukios.  For example, if you change your Cover Photo but have not clicked the "Update as Draft" or "Update and Publish" button yet you will see a message informing you that you have made changes to the data since you last sent a Draft or Publish. If you click "View Page" in this situation you will see the "old" cover photo since that is the current state of the obituary page in Tukios.

Tukios Integration - Version 1 Information

VERSION 1 OF THE TUKIOS INTEGRATION HAS BEEN DEPRECATED.  IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING VERSION 1 TUKIOS WILL SCHEDULE YOU TO BE UPGRADED TO VERSION 2.

Once Halcyon and your Tukios website are connected you will see a "Tukios Website Integration" panel on your At Need clients' Overview page.  Each service type you have defined via your Admin functions will appear with a checkbox; your actual panel may look different than what is shown in the screenshot.

If you do NOT have the "Automatically update this client's..." checkbox checked you must visit the Overview page and click the "Update Tukios Page Now" button in order to update the publicly facing Tukios website with the latest information you have entered into Halcyon.

If you check off the "Automatically update this client's..." checkbox, whenever you make an update on the Biography, Service or Obituary page the Tukios website obituary will be updated with the information currently in Halcyon.  This checkbox is NOT checked by default allowing you the ability to enter the information into Halcyon before any of it will appear on your Tukios website.

IMPORTANT: Once you send any information from Halcyon to your Tukios website it is not possible via Halcyon to TOTALLY REMOVE or HIDE the Tukios obituary from the public.  If you want to remove a previously posted obituary you should uncheck the "Automatically update" checkbox in Halcyon then use your Tukios Administrative functions to remove the obituary from your website.

You may check off the service types you would like to appear on the client's Tukios obituary page.  When you make a change to a checkbox or Obituary Theme you will be given a warning notice reminding you that you must click the "Update the Tukios Page Now" button in order for your changes to appear.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT LOCATION ADDRESS CHANGES: When a location, such as a Church, Cemetery or Reception Location, is sent to Tukios from Halcyon for the first time the name and address information is added into Tukios and they give Halcyon a "Tukios location number".  All subsequent use of the location by all current and future obituaries are sent to Tukios using their location number rather than the full address information.  Currently Tukios does not have a way for Halcyon to inform them of the address change.  If you update an address for a location in Halcyon that has been previously sent to Tukios you MUST visit your Tukios Admin page and update the address on the Tukios side.  Halcyon knows if a location has been previously sent to Tukios so we will let you know if the address should also be changed on the Tukios side.  Tukios developers have plans to address this and we will update our code and documentation as soon as possible.
